Product care
My products are made out of solid, locally and sustainably sourced wood.
Every effort has been made to deliver you a stable, durable and resistant piece that you can enjoy and pass on.
All of my tableware (plates, bowls, platters) is protected with a food-safe finish- unless otherwise stated this is usually Osmo foodsafe top oil.
You don't need to use this particular finish though, for most use an occasional rub with some neutral oil (mineral oil, or sunflower oil) will keep the wood looking well for decades to come. If you use the wooden bowl regularly, especially for salads, you will patinate and therefore protect the wood through constant use.
Wood does react to its environment. You should avoid placing the pieces close to intense sources of heat (over a fire or heater), or in direct sunlight.
If you have a bowl, you may find that the bowl is slightly oval rather than perfectly round. This is the wood reacting to the different humidity and temperature levels of your home, and is perfectly normal. The wood may change shape slightly throughout the year.
For cleaning, a quick wipe with a damp cloth will take care of most cleaning. No wooden products are made for the dishwasher. Avoid letting fruit or other foods decay in the bowls as this will result in staining.
